Blackheads are a common problem but mostly people do not know that what are the blackheads. These are also a form of acne that result when a pore is only partially blocked, allowing some of the trapped sebum (oil), bacteria, and dead skin cells to slowly drain to the surface. The black color is not caused by dirt and can not be washed away. Rather, it is a reaction of the skin’s own pigment, melanin, reacting with the oxygen in the air. A blackhead tends to be a stable structure, and can often take a long time to clear. This is because the contents very slowly drain to the surface. Most people are wonder how can they get rid of blackheads. They may be surprised to know that like whiteheads, blackhead may also heal itself by releasing its contents on the surface. However, new lesions may appear to take it’s place.

Dr John Anne asked:

Our skin is the reflection of our health and vitality, physical, mental and emotional wellness. A radiant and glowing skin indicates good health, positive attitude and vibrates self-confidence. On the other hand, a dull and blemished skin shows an unhealthy body, stressful lifestyle and carelessness towards one’s own personality.

Who doesn’t want to look good, and good looks start with good skin. You may think it’s not such a big issue; there are several products in the market to make the skin beautiful and glowing in a jiffy. But as you use them, you must also be realizing that it is not so. These cosmetic products produce temporary effects on skin, have lots of side effects, and are very costly and not suited to all skin types. Then, what’s the way out? Here’s where we come to our topic of discussion, to care for the skin in a natural way that is natural skin care.

Natural skin care is not just about using skin products produced without chemicals; it’s an ongoing process of a result of a healthy life-style, right diet and off-course right skin products to be applied directly.

First of all, natural way of caring for skin starts with some life-style changes we need to take care of. Getting enough sleep: ‘Beauty sleep’ is not just a saying; its meaning goes far beyond that. As the rest of the body, for healthy skin, sleeping adequately is a must. At least 7 – 8 hours of sleep (hours vary for person to person), ensures a relaxed mind and body, normal blood flow, takes care of all wear and tear during the day, energizes you and brings the glow back in the morning. Dark circles around the eyes, blotchy skin, and lifeless appearance of face are all side effects of not getting enough sleep. So switch off that TV, log-off your laptop, and get from the party on time to catch a good night’s sleep.

Get Moving: Now that you’ve got enough sleep, its time for some exercises as well. Be active, walk, jog, exercise, hit the gym, do stretches during office hours too, take the stairs, do anything to keep moving. Inactivity affects the skin by promoting bloating and puffiness, cellulite and loss of muscle tone. Exercise also helps us to relax and de-stress, both necessary for a healthy skin.

Drink lots of water: Water helps to detoxify the body’s system, bathes the cells, eliminates waste products, help in digestion, purify blood and the list goes on and on. The point is to have at least 2 liters of water a day, avoid carbonated and sweetened drinks and have fresh juices and soups as additional source of fluids.

For a shiny and smooth skin, drinking honey mixed in warm water in the morning helps a lot. Secondly, natural way of caring for skin by eating right.

Let’s discuss some basic points:

Have lots of fiber: Eating food that is rich in fiber help a good digestion and constipation is totally taken care of. This eliminates the root of many skin problems like acne, psoriasis, spotty skin etc. we must have lots of fruits, fresh veggies, whole grains, and salad. The idea is to cut on processed food and fast food because these contain almost no fiber. Eating things in their natural form is the mantra to get the most benefit out of it.

Cut on excess sugar: The more we take sugar, the more sugar enters our bloodstream. Over some time, this results in a process where the glucose molecules damages protein molecule by sticking to it. This causes damage in collagen, cartilage and ligament, thus forming wrinkles. So, the next time, you are adding the second spoon of sugar to your tea/ coffee or going to bite on your favorite sweet…think again!!

Get some good fats: These are the fats needed to build cells, membrane, hormones etc. Lack of the good fat can lead to eczema, acne and dry skin. The sources to get these fats are cold-water fish, walnut oil, flaxseed oil, nuts; also you can try fish oil supplements.

Apart from these basic dietary requirements, we need to have a balanced diet containing Vitamins, Minerals, Proteins, Fats, all essential ingredients which comprises an adequate diet. This is absolutely vital for a healthy body and mind along with a smooth, glowing skin.

Last but not the least, we come to the most interesting part of out discussion. Natural skin care products, to be applied regularly for best results. According to the classic definition of natural skin care products, these are products found and used in their natural or raw form without any chemicals and manufactured in such a way so as to preserve the integrity of the ingredient.

There are many products, which can be bought from the market, manufactured by reputed companies. But best is to spend a little time and prepare some easy recipes for taking care of common skin problems and daily cleansing and toning.

Skin Care Tips:

· Stop using soap on your face (if possible, on body also). Use gram flour and milk to make a paste. Apply it gently and rub a little, then wash off with water. Believe me, it’s much better that any soap!!

· Massage body with mustard oil 10 minutes before bath, and then take a warm bath. Your skin will be moisturized and smooth.

· Massage your body with milk. Milk moisturizes your skin naturally.

· For daily cleansing, mix sandal wood powder with rose water and add 4-5 drops of milk in it, then apply on face and body. After 10 minutes, take a warm bath.

· Warm honey and mix with lemon juice, then apply on face. Let it dry, and then wash off with warm water. It refreshes and cleanses your skin.

· For preparing natural bleach, mix lemon juice in milk. Then massage it on your face and body. It bleaches you skin naturally.

· To remove sun-tan, mix cucumber juice with tomato juice, rub on skin, wash off with cold water.

Avoid using bar soaps on your facial skin as this damages your layers. Bar soaps should be used on the neck, down to the toes. Once the cleaning is over, you need to exfoliate it. By exfoliation, you need a product that helps you take off the top layer of skin while removing dead skin cells found here. On the removal of old layers from your facial skin, you find that your face looks younger than before. However professionals suggest using microderm abrasion kits to remove your skin layer from your face only once a week. This is because your skin starts peeling if used more than once a week. When using the kit, ensure that the brush you use has fine and soft bristles.

Avoid the sun at all cost! This is how skin can acquire a tough, leathery appearance…wearing sunscreen (preferably with SPF 30) is a very important part of anti aging skin care. You should always be wary of skin care tips acne product sellers give that promise immediate or miraculous results. Results will vary according to the kind of skin the user has and the severity of the acne problems he faces. And since not all people have the same kind of acne problem or skin type, promising instant or somewhat magical results for all acne sufferers is truly a very irresponsible thing to do. Professional skin care treatments are available if you have problem skin or even if you are new to facial skin care.

Professional skin care specialists can examine your skin and determine which treatments are best suited for your skin type. A relaxing facial and massage at a day spa can help melt away the stress of your busy life. Professional skin care products are often recommended by a specialist after a spa treatment. This is an excellent way to begin your facial skin care routine if you are unsure of how to start.Caring for your skin and caring for your body go hand in hand. Your skin is like a mirror that reflects all your habits. If you eat healthy and treat your body well, the result will be healthier more supple skin.

However, if you eat foods that are greasy and bad for you, it will show through your skin in the form of pimples and blemishes. Because your skin releases toxins from your body many of the things you eat indirectly affect your skin.Aside from a good diet, cleansing and moisturizing are important facial skin care tips. Eating healthy helps maintain the health and look of your skin from the inside out, but that alone will not necessarily cure any skin problems that you may have. Cleansing daily helps to clear away any environmental damage that your skin may be suffering from, such as dirt or toxins.

Moisturizing will also help your skin as it works as a barrier locking in moisture and protecting your skin. Exfoliating and weekly facials are more facial skin care tips that are useful. By exfoliating you are removing any unwanted dead skin cells allowing a cleaner, smoother layer of skin to appear. Facials can also be helpful in the maintenance of your skin, as various facials achieve various outcomes. Most facials are relaxing and soothing for the skin, where other facials open up the pores and allows the skin to breathe.

You want to cleanse your face on a daily basis. Also, use a good toner that will close the open pores of your skin. This is vital to healthy skin. Your face is exposed to many different conditions that can damage the skin every day, not to mention the grease and the oil that accumulates on your skin. In this article you will learn how to give a facial massage and know the benefits of face massage.

Benefits of face massage

1. Face massage relieve muscle tension in the face and improve blood and lymph circulation.

2. Face massage focusing on the pressure points of the face can offer relief for symptoms of allergies and sinus congestion.

3. Face massage helps in removing wrinkles; improve complexion and natural glow of the skin.

Steps for face massage –

Take your partner’s hair off the face with a headband. Be careful not to use too much oil on the face or you’ll find it difficult to massage specific areas without slipping. Encourage your partner to close his or her eyes, so as to focus on your touch.

• Begin by stroking up each side of the jawline to the forehead. Repeat 4-5 times.

• Slowly stroke the forehead rhythmically with the flat of your hand from just above the brows to the hairline.

• Starting at the centre hairline slide your thumbs out to the side, applying gently pressure. Move down the forehead slightly and repeat. Continue this outward stroking pressure until you reach the eyebrows.

• Now place the heel of each hand on the centre forehead and slide out to the sides. Repeat three times.

• Place the first two fingers of each hand on the temples and circle gently for a minute or two, applying a little pressure.

All the above movements help to relieve a headache. Try lavender oil for your massage as it can ward off a headache if used in time.

• Place your thumbs on your partner’s inner eyebrows and slide out to the sides. Repeat three times.

• With your index finger and thumbs gently pull along the brow bone. Repeat three times.

• Stroke gently over the eyelids with your ring fingers from the inner to the outer corners. Repeat three times.

• Alternately stroke down the nose with your thumbs then gently rub round the nose tip and nostrils. Be careful not to press hard on the nostrils.

• Stroke the cheeks across the cheekbones and gradually work down the face to the chin.

• Make little circular movements across the top lip. When you reach the corner of the mouth lift slightly then repeat.

• Make pinching movements out along the jawline and up towards the ears.

• Rub the earlobes between your fingers and thumbs then gently pinch all around the outer ear. Most people love this.

• Sweep your hands up the neck and on to the cheeks. Hold then repeat.

• Finish by stroking the forehead, getting lighter and lighter until you bring your hands off.

Note: Face massage should be done by using oil or moisturizer as a lubricant. If you just use your bare hands, you may cause too much friction and leads to irritation of the skin.

Hope you have now learned how to give a facial massage to remove wrinkles and get relief from symptoms of allergies and sinus congestion.

How many times did it ever happen that you watch at the beauty pageants and have wondered if you can also possess the same texture of skin that the ramp scorchers you are seeing so gleefully flaunt? Or is it some untimely ageing had taken a toll of your once smooth and soft skin? Well Nature has its own course of mending whatever little scars it creates over anything. Those who were down earlier probably would feel a bit easier.

Skin therefore plays a vital role in our life, how one looks and feels directly relates to ones skin Making the best choices for our bodies, and ultimately our skin, is achieved through diet/ food, exercise, regular professional treatments, personalized homecare, and a healthy mental attitude.

Undertaking health and beauty “rituals” indiscriminately – slowing time and gravity’s tentacles continues to lead us on a trail that has been philosophized throughout history and evolving into the current trends of spending quite a handsome amount to the pocket of your Javed Habibs and God knows who else. Beauty comes from within, for the beauty that is without resemblances is the beauty that is within oneself, a beauty that makes each person unique.

Try and explore the methods to keep up a skin that ever lasts for your life by different ways. For example, proper diet is giving major importance (sorry to break the hearts of rash eaters) to the shine of skin. A diet for blemish-prone skin must be consistently high in protein and fresh raw fruit and vegetables. There are some regulations to observe in the diet.

Although intense exposure to the sun can produce symptoms of aging and can even predispose it to cancer, constant little exposure to sun light in your day’s schedule is important to rejuvenate your skin. But at the same time it should be pointed out that the sun rays in the current situation can do a lot of damage than good. The most damaging effect of the sun is that it dehydrates the skin causing it to become dry and rough and wrinkled, freckles, pigmentation and patches may also occur. An immediate reaction is expansion of blood vessels that is why skin looks flushed, red and gets tanned if stayed out in the sun for long. However sun is very good for children, as they require Vitamin D, which is abundant in sunlight for their growth and metabolism.

advancement of technology and new innovations, there have been various new skin care treatments developed which help people to overcome their skin problems. Light therapy is one such addition to the field of skin care treatments which is gaining popularity at a rapid pace. Though there are various skin care treatments in the market offering the same advantages, light therapy is a very unique form of skin care treatment which gives it an edge over others. Skin care light therapy does not use a UV lamp for the treatment, in fact it is always suggested to avoid the ultra-violet rays if you want to take care of your skin. Light therapy uses a much more advanced form of technology to treat the skin problems.

Light therapy is also known as LED light therapy which uses different forms of light colors such as red light therapy and blue light therapy for treating different skin problems. Some other colors such as red or amber are used too, as well as infrared light which is actually invisible. All these color light therapies come under the category of skin care light therapy.

For instance the red light therapy is the most widely used form which can treat wrinkles, fine lines and sun-burn. After going for this treatment your skin will be more elastic, supple and soft. On the other hand the blue light therapy is mainly used for treating acne and pimples. The benefits of skin care light therapy are as follow :

A proper and systematic use of light therapy leads to an increased level of collagen which results in renewal of new cells and tissues. It ultimately leads to reducing wrinkles and fine lines on your face.

Light therapy is known to heal blemishes, pimples, acne and other such skin problems. It kills the bacteria present in the skin and ensures that it does not take place again.

This skin care treatment will leave your skin more elastic, supple, flexible by increasing the circulation level therefore leaving you with a more youthful appearance.

The LED form of light skin care treatment can also provide relief from body pain and stress.

All these benefits are the main reason for light therapy’s growing popularity plus it comes at a very affordable rate as well. Indeed a personal LED light therapy device ranges from $160 to $400, using the same technology that you can find at dermatologist office or spas, but made in a home use format. Professional equipment are not portable and you may only get one session per week, or per month, due to the power of these devices (and the cost of a session !). A personal device can be used each day, shares by the whole family and is safe for every skin type.
