Just washing your face with beauty soap twice a day is not enough. You will need to work a little bit harder than that since unlike other parts of your body your face is very sensitive and remains constantly exposed to the elements. There are thousands of products available to us these days to help make us look beautiful. Foundation mousse, lip plumper, eye glitters and concealers, we’re so busy with our makeup that we sometimes forget about the needs of the face underneath it. But when it comes right down to it, your face will look better, whether you’re wearing makeup or not, if you take care of it first.
So pay attention to your skin, and meet your skin’s needs face-forward. When it comes to a fresh face, it’s all about the cleanser.
Using the right cleanser will require that you have some knowledge about your skin such as, i.e. oily, dry or normal. Selecting a cleanser accordingly will ensure that the cleanser works to its full potential. You should always opt to use cleansers that are natural, which will eliminate any chances of it causing any side effects.
Daily use of a good cleanser is the starting point for glowing skin. You should use a gentle, non-comedogenic (non-pore-clogging) cleanser that won’t dry your skin out. And remember, more isn’t better- washing your face too frequently can dry out your skin, making your sweat-producing glands work overtime to keep up, resulting in oily, unhappy skin. Washing twice a day should do it. If your skin has a tendency toward acne, you can use an acne-cleanser with ingredients like salicylic acid and Benzoyl peroxide to help your skin absorbs acne treatments, but the same rule goes-stick to two washes a day.
Most people should also have a face moisturizer. Even if you already have a moisturizing cream that you use from the rest of your body, you probably need a different one for you face, because your face’s skin and your body’s skin have different needs. To meet those needs, get a light moisturizer for your face, one that is non-comedogenic like your face cleanser, to avoid clogging your pores and causing acne breakouts. A good moisturizer will keep your skin looking young and fresh, prevent dryness that leads it itchiness, flaking, and sometimes blemishes, and help fight off the early onset of fine wrinkles.
However, to fully protect your skin from the affects of aging, your moisturizer should also contain UV protection. Studies have shown that exposure to the sun causes premature aging of the skin. A tan looks nice, but tans are temporary-and wrinkles are forever. Your daily moisturizer should have a minimum SPF protection of 15, and if you know you’re going to be out in the sun a lot, use a stronger SPF sunscreen, and apply liberally and regularly.
Finally, lifestyle habits count big. Smoking and excessive drinking can wreak havoc on your complexion, and a good night’s sleep and healthy, balanced diet give you a glow that nothing else in the world can. Frequent vacations and lots of rest work wonders. Take care of yourself, and your skin will take care of you. Feed your face the best your can and in return you will look much better than you currently do. By using the right stuff you can reduce years of your age, without having to resort to surgery or other forms of artificial methods.

So here I am playing with my sister’s kids, when my niece asks me, “Auntie Sara, will you watch a movie with me?”. I replied “Well sure sweetheart! You pick the movie, and I will sit right here with you and watch it, OK?”.

Your feet bear the brunt of your whole body, they take you where ever you want. However over working them without the proper care they need can get you into trouble. Imagine not being able to walk just because your feet are too sore from the dry skin that seems to be peeling off, or the corns that just make it impossible for you to wear shoes to work. When it comes to your feet you should take as much care of it as you can, after all they provide you with a solid base.
Our feet are the unsung heroes of the lower body. Every day they carry us through the world, over long distances and in uncomfortable shoes, getting us where we need to go. But it’s hard to stand up to the world on feet that don’t want you to stand on them at all, so help your feet to help you, by following these simple foot care and hygiene tips.
Happy feet all start with a good scrubbing. Healthy feet are clean feet, so you should be washing yours every day. Use a mild soap that won’t dry them out, and make sure that you’ve rinsed all of the soap off when you’re done- there’s nothing like a little left-over soap to irritate the skin between you toes.
If your feet have a tendency toward dryness, moisturizer is a must. With your feet, you can feel free to use a heavy moisturizer that you would never consider using for your face care routine- you can even go as heavy as petrolatum, vaseline or soft paraffin to combat cracking, dry skin, and your feet will thank you for it. To get the best results, always moisturize after washing your feet, and, for the heavy-duty emulsifying treatment, massage a thick coat of heavy moisturizer into your skin before bed, and wear cotton socks. This will help your feel retain more of the moisturizer, quenching and softening dry, hard skin while you sleep.
And what are healthy feet without healthy toenails? The fact is, if you neglect your toenails, your feet just aren”t taken care of. So keep them trimmed and clean. It’s important that you trim them close the toe, to avoid painful breakage, and trim them straight across. Rounded toenails might look nice, but they make your toes more vulnerable to painful and unattractive ingrown nails. Save yourself the misery, and cut them clean across, every time.
No one wants to hear it, but when it comes to feet, it’s often what’s on the outside that counts. If you’re wearing shoes that don’t fit, shoes that don’t have proper arch support or that don’t have good insole cushioning, your feet will tell you so by aching and throbbing throughout the day. And no matter how nice they might make your legs look, don’t wear high heels if you have much walking to do- it might land you with killer back pain. We might sometimes wish we looked like supermodels, but believe me, you would never want to literally walk a mile in their shoes-your feet would be killing you after ten steps. So be kind to your feet, and make good shoe choices.
Give your feet some breathing space, always wear socks that provide your feet with proper ventilation. You can also avoid wearing socks when it is very hot, specially if you don’t need to go to work. Always wash your feet before going to bed as that would prevent the spread of bacteria on your feet.

Commonly affecting the skin condition of people between ages 12 to 24 is a disease called acne. The cause of acne is hard to determine. However, over secretion of the sebaceous glands is pointed as the cause to trigger most acne outbreaks.
Pilosebaceous units are the combination of the hair follicles and oil glands in the skin. Except for the surface of the palms and the soles of the feet, pilosabaceous units are found on the skin tissue throughout the body . They are responsible in secreting the oily substance called sebum. However, due to many factors (e.g. hormonal imbalances, stress and the skin’s natural condition) the oil glands may be induced to produce more sebum than normal. When this happens, the excess oil plugs the skin pores. This process brings about bacterial infection and stimulate the reaction of the immune system. In the end, acne inflammation results.
Acne can strike at any skin type. An oily skin type is most subseptible to acne. Dry skin on the other hand, may not be as susceptible but serious outbreaks may occur during winter. Normal skin is equally susceptible to acne but the level of severity may not be as high.
Presently, acne is not yet totally curable but can be remedied with several acne skin care methods. Many seek the help of topical medications, which are applied on the surface of the skin. However, employing the use of acne skin care products like “pore strip pads” may remove whiteheads and blackheads but they would not have any effect on the excess sebum produced.
Nevertheless, for remedy and prevention, it is best to employ the following 8 simple tips:
1. A healthy, well-balanced diet must be observed. Therefore, your food intake must incorporate all the essential nutrients the body needs for efficient functioning.
2. Drink plenty of fluids like water, juices. Minimize the intake of carbonated drinks.
3. No make up is recommended.
4. Wash your face with mild soap and water. The logic is to not remove the dirt (as the majority of acne-inflicted person perceive) but to remove the plugs on the skin pores, which may be a combination of dead skin cells, bacteria and hardened sebum. Although dirt is not truly the cause of acne, it may contribute to further infection through its interaction with skin debris and particles and extra oil in the skin.
5. Use topical cleansing pads that may contain one or the combination of the following: salicylic acid, sulfur and benzoyl peroxide to remove excess oil. Another way to minimize the presence of extra oil in the skin is to wash the face with the hottest water you can withstand.
6. Minimize the use of harsh cleansers and use acne skin care items that exfoliate mildly. Do not scrub vigorously to the affected areas.
7. If your hands are dirty, refrain from touching your face.
8. If you have long hair, tie up your hair so that it is kept away from the face. This is especially so if the weather is hot and you have been perspiring.
Preventative acne skin care steps are just as important as the treatment of acne itself. With prevention, at least, you know how to ensure that your acne problem does not escalate and spread to a bigger infected area.

More than half of the world’s population has reported to be suffering from black heads. Black heads are specially a major cause for concern in young women, who try their best to look as good as they can. However black heads are not really a vary serious condition but they are an indication of bad skin care. There are various methods that can be used to remove black heads effectively, a proper routine can also help keep them away.
Those unsightly black spots often found on noses and chins are called “blackheads”. They’re formed from the same oils that cause pimples, and when the oils are built up in the pores, where it is exposed to the air, the oil turns into a black blemish rather than the pink bumps characteristic of under-the-skin pimples.
How to Remove Blackheads
Blackheads are not a serious skin problem but if left unattended they tend to get out of hand. So the first sight that you see of blackheads you should get right to work getting rid of them.
Many people try squeezing the skin around blackheads, just like they might try with pimples, but this is never a good way to get rid of blemishes regardless of whether they’re black or pink! It has little results and can actually cause the oils to spread to other areas of your face.
Removing blackheads is best done by prevention. Because they are caused by the over production of oils and the trapping of dead skin cells on your face, having a cleansing routine that effectively limits the amount of oil production is your best option for preventing new blackheads from appearing- and in time, the existing ones will also be removed from routine cleaning.
Cleaning doesn’t mean you have to dry your face out completely. Choose a gentle cleanser that allows a deep clean without excessive drying (which, although it might seem like drying out the face is good for the prevention of oil, it actually causes your glands to produce even more oil to compensate for the drying effects of certain cleansers). Before cleaning, use a gentle exfoliant to remove dead skin cells, wash, and you’ll find in a few weeks of maintaining a twice daily cleaning regime, you’ll have noticeably less blackheads and glowing skin (from slothing off dead skin cells rather than leaving them!)
Stubborn Blackheads
In some cases, blackheads are determined to stay in your nose or chin! Do not resort to squeezing as you are likely to just push them down deeper into the skin and result in a big, flaming red pimple! Instead, fill a pot with water and let it steam. Remove from heat. With a towel draped over your head, lower your head over the pot so that the steam reaches your face (but not so close that it will burn) and stay that way for a few minutes. The steam will open your pores.
Next, you can use a blackhead remover (purchased from any department store in the cosmetic department) to gently lift the blackheads from your skin, or dab with a tissue to remove blockages. The idea is not to use anything harsh on your skin, if your black heads don’t disappear the first or second time you use your techniques don’t become impatient they will eventually disappear. Stay away from over the counter artificial products that can cause skin problems.

Your face is what you show the world, a fresh well kept face looks radiant, energetic and fresh. Not to mention the fact that it is a big confidence booster. You no longer will feel shy of meeting people once your face looks the way it is supposed to. Today maintaining a fresh and energetic face is easier and less time consuming as some might imagine.
The market is flooded with beauty products for every kind of skin type, skin condition, and skin tone. These items can range for the generic brands set at reasonable prices to the top of the line products which can become very expensive. Instead of paying a lot of money to the department stores, have you ever considered making these same products for yourself? It’s true. It can be done and the products you create at home can be just as, if not more, effective than anything you can find on a shelf.
Let’s start with ingredients. Before running off to another store, check your cabinets and refrigerator. Do you have oatmeal? How about yogurt? Great! Now you are all set to make a simple facial cleanser. Just add enough yogurt to a ½ cup of plain oatmeal. Rub gently all over your face. Be careful to keep it out of your eyes. Rinse the mixture off with lukewarm water and viola – you’ve got a cleaning and conditioning facial.
Need to improve the elasticity in your face? Go to the refrigerator and grab an egg. Separate the yolk from the egg white. Put the egg white into a bowl and whip with a manual egg beater. Apply to your entire face and allow it time to dry completely. Rinse the egg from your face with warm water. Can you feel the difference? Your skin should feel tighter and smoother. It really is that easy.
Do you suffer from dry skin? Get the yogurt back out and measure one tablespoon. Mix the yogurt with one tablespoon of honey. Be sure to mix well. Smooth the cream in to your entire face. Do not rinse your face. The mixture will re-hydrate the skin and provide much needed moisture.
Acne plagues not only young teens but older adults as well. For a simple acne treatment at home, try combining one part bran with one part baking soda and add enough water to form a paste. Apply the paste to your entire face and keep the mixture on for about 15 minutes. Use one part apple cider vinegar to eight parts of water to make a rinsing solution to clean the paste from your skin.
Not only are natural beauty remedies inexpensive and easy, they also prevent you from consistently exposing yourself and your skin to unnecessary harsh chemicals which can build up in your body and lead to even bigger issues. There are many places to find creative ways to produce your own beauty products, even your Grandma may have some tips of her own.
Regardless, of what your concerns and problem areas are, you can have a little fun experimenting with your own ingredients and ideas.
Even if you opt to buy off the shelve products make sure that they are made from natural ingredients and don’t contain synthetic or chemical ingredients. Also take a look at the directions of use and the warning label if there is one to make sure that it does not cause any side effects or is just limited to use on a few skin types. This will ensure that you never run into trouble when using off the shelve products. However only use off the shelve products if you don’t have the time to prepare these for yourself at home.

The choices are so many when you look for a skin care cream that will work for you. Each product has its own unique benefits and shortcomings, and buying just a general cream might not produce the desired results. You might want to buy a cream that will give your skin a healthy shiny look and by mistake buy something for wrinkles, which will not help you with your particular goal.
There are four main criteria you need to consider before you select a particular skin care product.
a) The function of the product. Does it tone, remove wrinkles or cellulite, moisturize, clean, etc.
b) The part of your body where you want to apply the cream. Do you want to use it on your face, around the eyes, on your legs, arms, or entire body.
c) What is your skin type. Do you have dry skin, oily skin, sensitive skin, or normal skin.
d) The ingredients of the product. Does it consists of chemical solutions, or does it have only organic and/or herb ingredients.
Skin care creams tend to keep the skin moist, which is an important first step in proper skin treatment. However, this does not mean that skin creams are only for people who have dry skin. Even with a normal or oily skin, it is still very important to keep your skin properly moisturized with the correct cream for your skin type.
If you’re looking to reduce an excess of oil in your skin, then you need to shop for a skin care cream that contains Vitamin A. There are also products that contain sulfur, which inhibits the production of sebum that causes oily skin.
For other skin issues, such as skin fungi or skin irritations, you will find both herbs based and chemical based products that target those particular conditions. That is also true for wrinkles, skin discoloration, inflammation, and even for insect bites where you would want a cream to stop the itching and reduce the swelling.
Skin care creams can also be used to help with your fight against premature aging of the skin, as well as other causes that could lead to skin disorders. Most of these products contain all or any of the following ingredients: Retinol, Vitamin C, Kojic Acid, lpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs), Salicylic acid, Copper Peptide, Hydroquinone, Hyaluronic Acid, and Alpha-Lipoic Acid. All of these ingredients provide beneficial effects to the skin, if you use them according to recommend usage guidelines and only if you have the particular skin condition that they target.
Make sure that you know your skin type, the state of health of your skin, and your preferred ingredient types, and you will be able to select the best skin care cream for your particular needs.

If you want to keep your skin looking beautiful, young, and healthy, then you must take the necessary steps to ensure that you are implementing the proper skin care regimen into your day. Your skin is the only one you are going to have, taking care of it is crucial to looking your best no matter your age.
Your skin care regimen should be a daily process. It does not have to take a great deal of time, five minutes each day and you can keep your skin looking beautiful. The best thing about your skin care regimen is that you will enjoy it, love the feeling, and love the immediate results that you experience each time.
While there are many ways to implement skin care into your daily routine, there are four essential steps that you should take everyday that will keep you looking and feeling your best from morning until night.
Essential Skin Care Tip #1 – The Products
You want to make sure that any skin care products you choose are of the highest quality, as well as meant specifically for your skin. Before choosing take note of your skin, is it dry? Oily? Normal? These skin types all matter when choosing skin care products. You want to make sure that the products you choose for your skin care regimen are going to benefit your skin, not make matter worse.
Essential Skin Care Tip #2 – Use Steam
Using steam is essential to caring for your skin and should be an important part of your skin care regimen. When you steam the skin, you are clearing and opening the pores allowing them become accessible to cleansing. This can usually be done at night, before bed.
If you don’t have a facial steamer, a washcloth works fantastic. Simply soak the cloth in water that is steaming, lightly wring it, and then close it around your face. You should allow the steam to work on the face for one to one and a half minutes for maximum results.
Essential Skin Care Tip #3 – Cleansing
Of course, you already know that cleansing your skin is essential to proper skin care. However, it is best to do this after steaming, because the pores are open, accessible, and ready to rid themselves of dirt and oils. Before you begin, after pores are open, take some warm water and splash it on the neck and face.
Next, take your cleanser, place some on your hands, and create a creamy lather by mixing with a slight amount of water. With your face wet from splashing, massage the cleanser onto the face with a complexion brush or your fingertips, moving circularly all over the face. This should be done for thirty seconds, then rinse and pat dry.
Essential Skin Care Tip #4 – Tone & Moisturize
Lastly, after you steam and cleanse, toning and moisturizing is next. Your chosen toner should be free of alcohol, gentle, and readies the skin for moisturizing. When moisturizing you only want to place a small amount on your face, too much can be harmful.
In conclusion I would like to say that choosing the right treatment for your skin is imperative. Don’t just buy stuff of the shelf or try the next best home brew method you read of the internet. The first step should be to know your skin type and what really affects your skin, if or not you have any skin problems. Consulting a dermatologist is a good idea if you have a skin condition that you can’t explain. It is only when once you know your skin type should you really attempt to use home made or artificial products. However artificial products don’t have any side or adverse affects which if they are not affective they wont be counter productive as well.
Now you know just what it takes to implement the proper skin care regimen into your daily routine. So all you need to do is to pickup your stuff and start moving along the path of youth and radiance.
